Zahir Sumon, a former student of Jahangirnagar University’s drama and dramatics department, is fighting for his life at Dhaka’s Square Hospitals, says a press release.

The 39-year-old designer of Baishakhi Television and a freelance producer was admitted to the hospital on June 11.

Doctors initially diagnosed him with multiple heart disorders caused by rheumatic fever in early years, including a weak valve which failed. While under treatment for lung infection and heart congestion, he suffered a stroke six days later.

He needs to be urgently flown abroad for better treatment. However, it is impossible for his family to bear the high cost of airlifting. Tk 40 lakh is needed for transport and treatment.

A campaign has been launched to raise funds.

Funds can be deposited to his brother’s account -- Name: Nazmul Hoque Rezwan, A/C No: 50311006025, Bank Asia.
