Arrest warrant issued against Ctg BNP leader in fraud case

A Chittagong court yesterday issued an arrest warrant against BNP Chittagong north district unit convener Aslam Chowdhury in a fraud case.

The court also framed charge against Aslam in the case filed by one Helal Uddin with Kotwali Police Station, said court sources.

According to the case statement, Aslam issued a cheque for Tk 11,97,774 of Bank Asia, GEC Branch, Chittagong to Helal on July 2, 2013, which bounced on December 9 the same year.

Aslam got bail from the court on July 27, 2014 in the case but, later, he did not appear before it on 10 hearing dates, the sources said.
