Ashulia RMG workers demand resumption of factory operation

Several hundred workers of a RMG factory formed a human chain on Dhaka-Tangail highway at Zamgora in Ashulia, outside the capital, yesterday demanding immediate opening of the factory.
Witnesses said the workers -- of Fashion Craft Knitwear Ltd in the area -- also tried to block the highway which police thwarted. The authorities on Monday decided to keep the factory shut for an indefinite period following the workers' demonstration for the last few days to press home their demands.
