Bagerhat AL office set on fire

A local office of the ruling Awami League burned down in Bagerhat Sadar early yesterday after allegedly being set alight by miscreants.

Nothing could be salvaged from the fire, said Joynal Abedin Titas, station officer of Bagerhat Fire Service and Civil Defence.

Jahangir Hossain, officer-in-charge of Bagerhat Police Station, visited the spot. No one has been detained yet in this connection.

Takchhir Hossain, an adviser of local AL, suspects the "arson attack" was related to last year's municipality election on December 30.
