Bangladeshi couple Mohammed Shahade Ferdous and Fatema Sultana has set a goal to tour the world on a motorcycle with an aim to raise awareness about global warming.

After completing tour of Singapore, Thailand, Indonesia, Malaysia, Brunei, Philippines, Vietnam, Laos, Cambodia and Myanmar, they organised a press briefing at Jatiya Press Club in the capital yesterday.

With the slogan "Ride for Greener Earth", the couple completed the second phase of their journey.

"Initially we started the journey just to travel. But later on we decided to do it for a global cause," said Fatema Sultana while sharing her experience.

The couple said they started their journey in 2005 and at first they travelled all over Bangladesh. Later in 2013, they started the first phase of their journey and travelled India, Nepal and Bhutan.

Ferdous, a manager in a multinational company and Fatema Sultana, a radio news host, said they want to complete touring Asia before moving onto other continents.

The couple has divided the journey into 11 parts and they have planned to travel 431,000 kilometres across 204 countries in eight years' period, says their website www.globaladventure. com.bd.

Enam Ul Haque, founder of Bangladesh Bird Club, was present as the chief gust at the briefing organised by Pathfinder Adventure Club, Bangladesh.
