Barisal rally demands right to food act enforcement

Rights activists in Barisal city yesterday urged the government to enforce right to food act to ensure food security.

As part of the Khaddo Odhikar Podojatra organised by Food Safety Network, the activists staged a rally demanding cultivation of crops which contains more nutrition value in a larger scale, proper marketing of food items and monitoring to check food adulteration.

The march started in Nilphamari on October 11  and will end in Dhaka on October 17 after covering 25 districts in four regions. In Barisal, Prantojon, a non government voluntary organisation, arranged the rally and also submitted a memorandum to the deputy commissioner.
