Baroness Verma in town

UK International Development Minister Baroness Verma arrived in Dhaka yesterday on a three-day visit to discuss Bangladesh's commitment towards the new global goals.

Baroness Verma was appointed parliamentary under secretary of state at the Department for International Development on May 13, 2015. Diplomatic sources said the British high commission in Dhaka refrained from making any prior announcement regarding Verma's visit on security grounds.

During her visit, Baroness Verma would engage with the local audience about the UK government's priorities and how UK Aid can best support the Bangladesh government in its commitment to new global goals, said a high commission press release.
