BCL forces Sust acting VC to postpone test for hiring teacher

Bangladesh Chhatra League yesterday confined the acting vice chancellor of the Shahjalal University of Science and Technology (Sust) to his office room for two hours yesterday, forcing him to postpone a test for recruitment of a lecturer in the sociology department.

Fearing irregularity, they demanded that the test be taken when the university reopens on June 14 after a two-week summer vacation, said BCL general secretary at Sust Imran Khan.

Prof Ilias Uddin Biswas, acting VC, said it was neither unethical nor illegal to conduct teacher's recruitment tests during vacation.
