BNP leader sent to jail in Rangpur

A Rangpur court yesterday sent a local BNP leader to jail rejecting his bail petitions in three cases filed under the explosives act.

Mahfuz-un-Nabi Don, assistant organising secretary of Rangpur district-unit BNP, was wanted in the cases filed over vandalism and arson attack on buses during BNP-led 20-party alliance's hartal and blockade.

Chief Judicial Magistrate in Rangpur Mostak Ahmed gave the order after he surrendered before the court seeking bail.
