BNP's Annee denied bail again

A Dhaka court yesterday again rejected the bail petitions of BNP's Student Affairs Secretary Shahid Uddin Chowdhury Annee in nine cases filed against him.

Of the nine cases, seven arson and vandalism cases were filed with Paltan police; one was lodged with Motijheel police in January last year and a murder case was filed with Sutrapur police in November 2013.

Judge Md Kamrul Hossain Mollah of the Metropolitan Sessions Judge's Court passed the order after his lawyer moved the bail petitions.

Earlier on January 28, Annee was sent to jail after surrendering before two Dhaka courts, seeking bails.

In all of the cases, Annee's name was in the First Information Report (FIR).

He also stands accused in a graft case, pending with the senior special judge's court of Dhaka.
