Cops hold iftar for underprivileged children
Tejgaon division of Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) today arranged an Iftar party for rootless children.
Around 120 children were provided with iftar, new dress and some new bank-notes during the occasion.
DMP Tejgaon regularly organises various programmes to help underprivileged people, Biplob Kumar Sarker, deputy commissioner of DMP (Tejgaon division), told The Daily Star.
In line with such initiatives, today's iftar programme was arranged to spread happiness to the children from poor families, he added.
After getting the gifts, Mim Akter, 11, a fourth grader, expressed her happiness saying that she will be able to enjoy this Eid with a new dress.
Many police officials and journalists were also present at the event.
