Ctg RMG factory sued for misuse of bond facilities

Customs Intelligence and Investigation Directorate officials in Chittagong yesterday filed a case against a garment accessories manufacturing firm for misusing bond facilities by selling imported raw materials in the open market.  

The firm, Sunrise Accessories Limited, located at Foteyabad in Hathazari upazila, imported 580 tonnes of raw materials worth Tk 3.75 core, under bond facility, a duty free facility for importing goods on condition of export. The case was filed allegedly for evading duty worth Tk 1 crore.
