Death anniversary

Today is the 44th death anniversary of martyred journalist Serajuddin Hossain.

A discussion and a milad mahfil will be held at his Mohammadpur house in Dhaka after Maghrib prayers, while a Qurankhwani and a milad mahfil at his Sharushuna village in Magura, says a press release.

On this day in 1971, Pakistani occupation army and their collaborators abducted him from his Chamelibagh house in Dhaka and he never returned.

Serajuddin, former executive and news editor of the daily Ittefaq, was the first among the intellectuals who was killed after abduction during the 1971 Liberation War.
