Dhaka to get five metro rails: Quader

Road Transport and Bridges Minister Obaidul Quader yesterday said the government has a plan to build five metro rails in the capital.

He was speaking at the inaugural function of the work of Ifad Group for building bodies of state-of-the-art buses at Bangandhu International Conference Centre in the capital.

He said auto-rickshaws will charge fares on the basis of meters in Dhaka from November 1 and in Chittagong from January 1. Tough actions would be taken if fare is realized from passengers, he added.
