DU Day to be observed today

Students, teachers and employees will celebrate “Dhaka University Day” and its 98th founding anniversary today amid festivity.

To mark the day, a series of programmes -- including processions, hoisting flags, cutting cakes, football matches, debate contest, concert, blood donation, photo and manuscript exhibition and discussion -- have been organised, reads a press release.

VC Prof Md Akhtaruzzaman will inaugurate the day at Mall-Chattar.

A discussion -- “Quality Education, Hindrance and Success” -- will be held at TSC. Professor Emeritus Dr Serajul Islam Choudhury will present the keynote speech.

There will be no classes and examinations today.
