Education Day today

The historic Education Day will be observed today commemorating the sacrifices of Mostafa, Babul, Wajiullah and other students who were protesting the Hamoodur Rahman Education Commission formed during the Ayub Khan regime in 1962.

When these students entered Abdul Gani Road crossing the High Court in Dhaka with their procession, police opened fire killing them on the spot.

Different student bodies and socio-cultural organisations will place wreaths at Shikkha Odhikar Chattar pillar before Shiksha Bhaban in the capital around 8:00am today.
