Eid trip turns fatal for 2 sisters

Four-year-old Tahia and her sister Tathoi, 2, were repeatedly asking their parents how long it was to reach their grandfather's house. They asked their parents to wake them up after they get there and went to sleep, but never got a chance to wake up.

Jahidul Islam, an engineer of Dhaka Electricity Supply Authority (DESA), was going to Kushtia from Dhaka with his two daughters and wife Tanni Yeasmin to celebrate Eid.

Their car fell into a water-filled ditch as the driver lost its control in Kushtia's Khoksa upazila around 12:30pm. The couple came out but failed to save their children.

Nine other people were killed in road accidents in Sirajganj and Manikganj yesterday.
