Events highlight nutrition, sustainable dev

The Ministry of Industries, Brac and Global Alliance for Improved Nutrition (GAIN) organised a series of events on November 29 to discuss Nutrition and Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

The events started with a dialogue with government officials and concluded on December 2 with another dialogue with development partners where Commerce Minister Tofail Ahmed and Prime Minister's International Affairs Adviser Gowher Rizvi attended.

Among others Industries Secretary Mosharraf Hossain Bhuiyan, GAIN Global Board Chair Vinita Bali, GAIN Executive Director Marc Van Ameringen, Ministry of Health and Family Welfare Secretary Syed Monjurul Islam, First Secretary of Food Security from the Netherlands Embassy Laurent Umans, and Heather McBride, deputy director of Planning and lead analyst from the Canadian High Commission were present.

The event was also attended by representatives from the Finance Ministry, Food Ministry, ERD the Social Development Fund, USAID, Unicef, and the European Union.

Jay Naidoo, Chair of the Partnership Council of GAIN, concluded the event with a vote of thanks.
