Fire guts Akij shoe factory in Ashulia

A shoe-manufacturing factory, Akij Footwear Ltd, was gutted by a fire at Narashinghapur in Ashulia, outside the capital, on Sunday evening.

The fire originated at the two storied tin-roofed unit of Akij Group. The fire officials could not ascertain the reason behind the fire nor could estimate the damage immediately.

Fire fighters doused the blaze within four hours.
