Five arrested for 'abduction'

Police yesterday arrested five youths following a complaint of abduction in Chittagong city.

They are Mahim Ajam Chowdhury, Ananya Barua Rony,  Suman Gazi, Mizanur Rahman, and Mizan's wife Jesmin Akter Jui.

Officer-in-Charge of Bayezid Bostami Police Station Mohammad Mohsin said they kidnapped Mohammad Sohel, a businessman, from the city on Saturday. They took him to a house at GEC Intersection and forcefully took some obscene photographs of him with Jui. Later, they threatened him to circulate the photographs on the internet if he did not pay the money they demanded. The criminals snatched Tk 19,000 from Mohsin before releasing him. They also realised Tk 20,000 from his relatives through bKash.
