Foreigners safe: Inu

Information Minister Hasanul Haq Inu yesterday said the government would take all-out measures to safeguard the lives of foreigners staying in the country.

Inu made the comment against the backdrop of the killings of an Italian and a Japanese man in the country, and the Westerners alerting their citizens in Bangladesh.

He was talking to journalists after inaugurating the constriction work of a road in Mirpur upazila of Kushtia, his home district. 

He also alleged that Khaleda Zia did not give up her "ill-practice of supporting the militants" in her 20-25 years' political career.

"Khaleda is not our concern; it is whether the militants or war criminals will play their parts in politics or not," he said.
