Former pro-JP student leader found dead

Bearing a bullet in the head and strangulation marks on the neck, the body of a former president of Jatiya Chhatra Samaj, a pro-Jatiya Party student organisation, was recovered by police from an Eastern Housing plot in Dhaka's Rupnagar yesterday.

Rupnagar police said the body of Syed Mizanur Rahman Himu was sent to Dhaka Medical College morgue for autopsy.

Terming it a pre-planned murder, Himu's brother Syed Anisur Rahman told The Daily Star that the victim, who had a business firm at Tikatuli, lived in Wari and used to return home by 8:00pm.
