Former Star news editor Yamin Bakht passes away

Yamin Bakht, a former news editor of The Daily Star, passed away at United Hospital yesterday morning. He was 62.

Bakht was admitted to the hospital with coronavirus infection 10 days ago and had tested negative after receiving treatment there.

He then developed bronchial complications and passed away in the morning, family sources said.

Bakht was one of the early members of The Daily Star team and became its news editor.  He later joined GrameenPhone and became its director of communications before he retired, the family said.
