Four Bangladeshis jailed in Nigeria
The Nigerian Federal High Court in Lagos sentenced four Bangladeshis and five Filipinos to 20 years' imprisonment each for crude oil theft in Nigeria.
They, however, were granted an option of paying N20 million each by the court. The four convicts are Zahirul Islam, Islam Shahinul, Islam Rafiqul and Shaikh Shibli Nomany, local news platform online NNUYA reported yesterday. Nine men conspired to commit an offence involving a dealing of 3,423.09 metric tonnes of crude oil illegally, the report said.
