Gazipur Mayor MA Mannan suspended again

Gazipur City Corporation's Mayor MA Mannan was suspended again yesterday, five days after the Supreme Court upheld the High Court order that stayed his earlier suspension in an arson case.

The LGRD ministry issued a gazette notification in this regard yesterday citing reasons that charges against Mannan was accepted by a Gazipur court on September 2, 2015, in another criminal case filed with Joydevpur Police Station. The ministry on August 19 last year suspended Mannan for the first time after a Gazipur court accepted charges against him in the arson case.
