Gender parity in education

UNESCO has appreciated Bangladesh's progress in achieving gender parity in education and also commended the political will and policies for women education. 

Director General of UNESCO Irina Bokova made the comment during her meeting with Bangladeshi Foreign Minister AH Mahmood Ali in Paris on Sunday. 

The foreign minister, who is now in Paris for a four-day visit, later held a meeting with Elisabeth Guigou, president of Foreign Affairs Commission of French National Assembly, said a press release. 

The DG assured Mahmood of all possible support for capacity building in the area of blue economy, and for the preservation, promotion and recognition of Bangladesh's cultural heritage in the global arena.
