Police re-arrested Hefajat-e Islam central leader Harun Bin Izhar in front of the Chittagong central jail gate yesterday immediately after his release on bail in four violence cases.
Senior Jail Super Ikbal Kabir Chowdhury said they received a paper regarding bail for Harun, publicity secretary, from a Chittagong court in the four cases -- three filed with Khulshi Police Station another with Kotwali Police Station.
Harun, son of Hefajat-e-Islam Nayebe Ameer Mufti Izharul Islam Chowdhury, is also an accused in several other cases filed over committing subversive acts with different police stations at different times, said Inspector (Investigation) Nur Mohammad of Kotwali Police Station.
The Hefajat leader will be interrogated in those cases, which are being examined, he said.
