Imamul Kabir Shanto passes away

Imamul Kabir Shanto, a freedom fighter and Shanto-Mariam University of Creative Technology (SMUCT) founding chairman, died from coronavirus at the Combined Military Hospital in the city yesterday morning. He was 66, says a press release.

He established Shanto-Mariam University of Creative Technology, Sundarbans Courier Services (Pvt) Ltd and Shanto-Mariam Foundation.

Liberation War Affairs Minister AKM Mozammel Haque yesterday expressed profound shock at the death of Imamul Kabir Shanto, the release adds.

In a condolence message, the minister prayed for eternal peace of the departed soul and conveyed deep sympathy to the bereaved family.
