Infant dies choking on candy
A one-and-half-year-old boy choked to death on a candy in the capital's Basila area yesterday.
The deceased was Tanjil, son of Ibrahim Khalil, a grocery shop owner.
Ibrahim told reporters at Dhaka Medical College Hospital that he gave his son a candy from his shop which stuck in his throat as he tried to swallow it.
Tanjil was rushed to the hospital immediately where doctors declared him dead.
