JCD president shown arrested in eight more arson cases

Remanded for 16 days; Aman denied bail in 44 arson cases

Jatiyatabadi Chhatra Dal (JCD) President Rajib Ahsan was yesterday shown arrested in eight more arson cases and remanded for 16 days.

The cases were filed with Paltan Police Station for assaulting policemen, damaging and torching vehicles in the capital's Paltan in January and February this year.

Earlier in the day, Rajib was produced before the court.

Rajib and five of his associates were sent to jail on July 20 after they were arrested in Patuakhali on the charge of possessing Yaba tablets.

He was earlier remanded for eight days in four other arson cases.

Meanwhile, another Dhaka court yesterday rejected bails of BNP leader Amanullah Aman in 44 arson cases filed with different police stations in the capital.
