Journalism books make mark

Staff Correspondent

The media often itself becomes talk of the town -- sometimes for objective journalism and sometimes for yellow journalism. Since the beginning, the practice of journalism has evolved with the advent of newer technologies and thus given birth to new challenges. But there have been always efforts to overcome the challenges and bring journalism closer to the audience.

As part of the effort, many books have been written in Bangla as well, and several books have been published in the Amar Ekushey Granthamela 2016.

Yesterday, the book "Sangbadikota: Offline Online" was published by Academic Press and Publishers Library (APPL).

With the advent of new technologies, people's reading habit has changed. The digital device is posing multifaceted threats to the print media. To fight the challenges, the print media has opted for various practices including the model of Five Es of journalism (Experimental, Experiential, Explanatory, Emotional and Economical Journalism).

The book "Sangbadkikota: Offline Online" has analysed the model in details.

Writer of the book, Mahamudul Haque, senior journalist of The Daily Star, also discussed how citizen journalism is contributing to mainstream journalism.

The book is available at stall no. 281 and 282 of APPL at the fair.

Pointing out different aspects of television journalism, journalist of RTV Maidur Rahman Rubel has written "Television Sangbad o Sangbadikota", a book published by Protiva Prokash.

He said the book would help people with academic knowledge on journalism.

The book will be found at stall no. 471.

Photographer Pavel Rahman's book "Sangbadikota Amar Cameray" is available at Mowla Brothers.

Some rare photos taken by Pavel along with the story behind the respective photos are written in the book.

The book will give a glimpse over the life of a photographer.

Yesterday, the fair premises were swarmed with visitors.

Md Robin, a salesman of Agami Prokashan, said the number of visitors reached its peak in the evening.

A total of 210 new books hit the fair yesterday.
