Jute genome decoder Maqsudul Alam remembered

On the occasion of the first death anniversary of Bangladeshi scientist Maqsudul Alam, a doa mahfil was held at Bangladesh Jute Research Institute (BJRI) yesterday afternoon.

He decoded the genetic map of jute, earning global fame. Earlier, he had decoded the genome of papaya in the US and rubber plant in Malaysia.
