Man gets death for killing uncle

A Barisal court yesterday sentenced a man to death for killing his maternal uncle over a land dispute.

The court also fined the accused Samrat, 22, Tk 10,000. He is absconding now.

According to the prosecution, Samrat beat up Habibur Rahman Molla following an altercation in East Dehergoti of the district on May 8, 2008. Later, Habibur died at Barisal Sher-e-Bangla Medical College Hospital.
