Obituary

Atiqul Alam, a prominent journalist, died from cardiac arrest in Bogra yesterday, aged 82.
Atiqul, who served BBC, Reuters and the daily Aurthoniti Protidin, left behind his wife Rowshan Ara and a son.
Hailed from Pabna town, he lived in the capital's Moghbazar.
Following a chest pain in his in-law's house, Atiqul was rushed to Shaheed Ziuar Rahman Medical College and Hospital in Bogra where the on-duty doctor declared him dead.
His body was taken to Dhaka for burial after the first namaz-e-janaja at a mosque in Bogra.
