Obituary

Omar Ali, a poet, died due to old-age complications in his residence in Koorpur village of Pabna Sadar yesterday afternoon. He was 78.

He left behind three sons and two daughters. He will be buried in his family graveyard yesterday night.

Born in October 20 in 1939, he received the Bangla Academy award in 1981 for his first book published in 1960. He retired as the chairperson of the English department of Government Bulbul College in Pabna.
