Obituary

Alpana Barua; mother of Rupam Bidrohi Barua, business development executive of The Daily Star Chittagong bureau; died due to old-age complications at her Chatteshwari residence in Chittagong city early Saturday. She was 63.
She left behind another son and a daughter to mourn her death, said a press release.
Her cremation was held at the Buddhist crematorium in the city's Chandgaon area on Saturday afternoon.
