Police yesterday claimed to have identified some killers of three Badda men in the capital.

On Thursday night, some Awami League supporters and leaders were discussing the programme of National Mourning Day when three to four people came out of the blue and started shooting in Adarsha Nagar Water Pump area. Four persons were injured in the gun attack and of them Shamsuddin Molla, an AL leader, Mahbubur Rahman Gama, a Swechchhasebak League Dhaka city's (north) leader, and AL supporter Feroz Ahmed Manik, later died. Police did not disclose the names of the killers for the sake of investigation but hoped that they would arrest them.

Earlier, Mahbubur's father filed a case. A relative of Mahbubur said they heard that police have held Sohel, an associate of Baul Sumon, a jhut trader who died in June. Police said no one has been arrested yet. Another source said detectives held two more on Friday.
