President, PM congratulate new Myanmar president

President Abdul Hamid and Prime Minster Sheikh Hasina yesterday extended their congratulations to newly elected President of Myanmar Htin Kyaw, said a press release.

In a message, president hoped that the election will pave the way for a greater peace in Myanmar and joint efforts of both the countries would help make this region a better place.

In her separate message, prime minster expressed hope that under the leadership of Htin Kyaw, Myanmar would undertake bold initiatives to infuse a greater trust and understanding between Bangladesh and Myanmar.
