Road crashes kill 3, hurt 6

Three people were killed and six others injured in road accidents in Chittagong and Gaibandha yesterday.

Our staff correspondent from Chittagong reports, two people were killed when a car turned turtle after hitting a road divider on Dhaka-Chittagong highway in Uttar Sonapahar area of Mirsarai upazila in Chittagong early yesterday.

They were the car driver Jahir, 25, of Feni; and its passenger Azizul Huq, 39, of Fatikchhari upazila, said highway police.

Our Gaibandha correspondent reports, a man was killed and six others were injured when a tractor rammed into a betel shop beside Gaibandha-Balashi road in Madanerpara yesterday as the driver lost control over the vehicle.

Critically injured Seju Mia, 40, succumbed to his injuries on the way to Gaibandha Sadar Hospital, where the injured -- including Yunus Ali, Bhutto, Siddique, Azher -- were admitted to.
