Road crashes kill 5

Five people were killed and seven others injured in road accidents in four districts yesterday and on Saturday.

In Dinajpur, Ashique Ali, 14, son of Rabiul Islam of Dakkhin Rasulpur village was killed when a motorcycle hit his bicycle on Phulbari-Parbtipur road in Kamalnagar village under Phulbari upazila on Saturday evening.

The deceased was a class-eight student of Barapukuria Coal Mining School and College in the upazila.

In Natore Sadar, two people were killed and four others injured in a head-on collision between a pickup-van and a three-wheeler in PTI moor area yesterday.

The deceased were Shampada Kandu, 50, of Joyari village and Khalil Bepary, 55, of Agran village.

In Chittagong, Azizur, 24, of Dhaka was killed and three people were injured when a microbus carrying them turned turtle as the driver lost control over the vehicle on Chittagong-Cox's Bazar highway in Hasandondi area of Chandanaish upazila yesterday.

In Mymensingh, Ramjan Ali, 32, of Tarakanda upazila was killed when a truck ran him over on Dhaka-Mymensingh highway in Bagan area in Trishal upazila yesterday.
