RU journo seeks protection against BCL threat

The Rajshahi University correspondent of the daily Jugantor, who was threatened by Bangladesh Chhatra League activists, filed a general diary with Motihar Police Station yesterday seeking security.

Hasan Adib was threatened with dire consequences for reporting the confinement and torture of a private university student by BCL men early this week.

Meanwhile, RU Kendrio Sangskritik Jote will start an indefinite hunger strike in front of the vice chancellor's residence demanding expulsion of BCL leader Saddam Hossain Sajib, who beat up the Jote's ex-president, Basudev Roy, on June 9.
