Inequality in the allocations for the water, sanitation and hygiene (WASH) sector between rural and urban areas has increased by 8 percent in the 2015-16 proposed budget compared to the previous fiscal year, says a press release.

Remote wetlands, coasts, tea gardens in the Chittagong Hill Tracts and specific projects for the disadvantaged population were not taken into consideration.

Representatives of different development and donor agencies, including Human Development Research Center, WaterAid, and Unicef, made the remarks at a press conference in Dhaka Reporters Unity.
