The  Supreme Court administration yesterday conducted a sudden drive  against irregularities at its affidavit section.

A team led by Justice Muhammad Imman Ali along with law  enforcers detained 43 people for entering the affidavit section and gathering there without proper reason and violating health  guidelines. They were later released.

Supreme  Court Spokesman Md Saifur Rahman told The Daily Star that authorities have questioned some unknown people for entering  into the affidavit section of the SC without any valid reason. But nobody was detained, he said, without giving any details on this issue.

Supreme Court Bar Association Secretary Ruhul Quddus Kazal and some lawyers went there and  got them released on undertaking.

Ruhul Quddus Kazal later told this newspaper that the drive was "unauthorised", and there were no allegations of corruption against any of those present.
