Security beefed up in Ctg for Durga Puja
Security has been tightened in Chittagong city and upazilas ahead of the Durga Puja. Many check-posts have been set up in different points of the city.
The law enforcing agencies have said they will remain vigilant throughout the festival.
The risky and highly risky mandaps will be given additional security, said an official of the district administration.
Alongside police officials, members of Rapid Action Battalion (Rab), Ansar, and members of village defence community will be deployed to maintain law and order situation.
Sabrina Rahman, assistant commissioner of Chittagong District Administration, told The Daily Star that a control room will be opened in the district administration during the festival.
