Teachers' representative election to JU senate today

The teachers' representative election to the senate body of Jahangirnagar University will be held today at the university's Teachers Club from 9:00am to 1:30pm.

A total of 510 teachers will cast votes to elect 33 teachers as their representatives for the next three years. Some 74 teachers are contesting from two panels -- Bangabandhur Adorsho o Muktijuddher Chetonay Bisshashi Progatishil Sikkhak Samaj and Sommilito Shikkhok Somaj -- while some are contesting independently.

The last such election was held on April 29, 2010 and the senate expired on June 24, 2013.
