Teenage girl bravely defies attempted forced marriage

A teenage girl saved herself from early marriage through intelligence in Boro Rauta village of Domar upazila in Nilphamari on Thursday.

Locals said Dulali Begum, 13, daughter of Dulal Hossen failing to persuade her parents to call off the marriage with Boro Babu, 25, of the village, informed the matter to Domar UNO over the phone.

UNO Sabiha Sultana rushed to the spot with a legal aid official of an NGO and the Sadar UP chairman and foiled the marriage.
