Testimony recording resumes

The Sylhet Speedy Trial Tribunal yesterday started the fourth day of recording testimonies of witnesses in the former finance minister Shah AMS Kibria murder case after being deferred twice.

Witnesses Mizanur Rahman and Nazrul Islam, residents of Habiganj town, gave their depositions before the court.

All of the accused but former state minister Lutfozzaman Babar and suspended Sylhet city mayor Ariful Haque Chowdhury were present in the dock.

The then opposition lawmaker and Awami League leader Kibria and four others were killed in a grenade attack on a rally in Habiganj on January 27, 2005.
