Three held with gold bars worth Tk 6cr in Ctg

Police detained three people after recovering 120 gold bars, weighing 12kg, worth around Tk 6 crore, from the fuel tank of their car in Ruby Gate area of Chittagong city yesterday.

The detainees are Jakir Hossain, driver of the car, and Md Jahir, and Md Faruque.

During primary interrogation the detainees admitted that they were employees of a Dhaka-based private company and were supposed to deliver the bars to a person in Dhaka. However, they did not mention any name.
