Three Pirojpur journos get awards

Pirojpur Press Club honoured three journalists, including the Pirojpur district correspondent of The Daily Star, with Freedom Fighter Jamalul Haque Monu Smriti Journalism Award-2015 on Thursday.

The awardees are Habibur Rahman of The Daily Star; AKM Faisal, Mathbaria correspondent of the Bangla daily Prothom Alo, and Rabiul Hasan Rabin, Kawkhali correspondent of The Daily Ittefaq.

The Press Club initiated the awarding scheme marking the 11th death anniversary of Jamalul Haque, commander of the district unit of Muktijoddha Command, publisher of the weekly Upakul Samachar.

Pirojpur Deputy Commissioner AKM Shamimul Huq Siddique and Pirojpur Press Club President Muniruzzaman Nasim Ali were also present.
