Three 'robbers', six 'snatchers' arrested in Chittagong

Police in different drives yesterday arrested three alleged robbers and six alleged snatchers in Chittagong city and Boalkhali upazila.

Shahjahan Kabir, officer-in-charge (OC) of Chandgaon police, said on information police recovered a light gun, a point 22-bore pistol, a sword, a Chinese axe and five knives from a field in Ananya residential area, and also two laptops and huge cosmetics stored at a house in Boalkhali upazila. Police arrested Arman alias Jisan, 25, Rinku, 27, and Mamun, 26, in this connection.

Meanwhile, Bayezid police arrested six alleged snatchers from different spots in the city, and recovered a toy pistol and two lethal weapons, said OC Md Mohsin.

The six are Md Ritan, 18, Mehedi Hasan, 22, Delwar Hossain, 18, Md Ripon, 18, Md Mamun, 19, and Md Russell, 18, all residents of Bayezid area.
